Coach Train
PWRFC is proud to announce our D1 Head Coach for the upcoming year is Kristin "KTrain" Aliberto! Kristin is a long-time PWRFC player and coach. She first took the field for Philly in fall 2003 at Pumpkinfest (RIP). During her fifteen-year rugby career, she played throughout the forward pack, earning representative honors for the EPRU and MARFU, as well as becoming a member of the women's national team pool as a prop and second row. Coach Train began her coaching career in 2006 at La Salle University, where she served as their head coach for seven years. During her tenure, the team was promoted from division 2 to division 4, twice qualified for division 2 nationals, and two players were selected to the collegiate All-Americans. She has also served as an assistant coach for the University of Pennsylvania WRFC and the MARFU U23. In the fall of 2019, she joined the PWRFC coaching staffing as the D1 forwards coach and helped take the Club in a new direction, prior to the year being cut short by the COVID pandemic. PWRFC is excited to continue its new, collaborative direction with Coach Train at the helm, as soon as it is safe to return-to-play!
We are still looking to expand our coaching staff, including a D3 Coach as well as assistant and specialty coaches. Anyone interested in working with Train and our fun, hard-working players should visit our Coach page for details on the position and how to apply.
