The Philadelphia Rugby Football Club (PRFC) is committed to creating an environment that fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion among its athletes, coaches, and fans on and off the pitch.

PRFC wishes to make our Club accessible to all who wish to play, coach, or spectate by removing barriers caused by social injustice and racial inequality. Additionally, PRFC aspires to be a safe space for players, coaches, and fans to fulfill their rugby goals, develop camaraderie, and be a positive presence in our community.

our D&I Manifesto

We recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are multifaceted topics that need to be addressed holistically to better engage and support all groups, specifically those that have been historically marginalized and underrepresented. To that end, PRFC has created a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Chair to tackle related arising issues with empathy, transparency, and care. Additionally, the D&I Chair will collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure that our policies, procedures, and club culture reflect our Mission.

We plan to offer continued youth programming for kids from underrepresented communities, host events that support the community that has welcomed us to play the sport we love, implement recruitment strategies that reach diverse communities, and actively foster a rugby culture that welcomes all players. 

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion means that all individuals regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, nationality, age, socioeconomic background, financial means, marital and family status/makeup, physical ability, health status, neurodiversity, ancestry, and citizenship are welcome to this Club. Furthermore, discrimination based on age, gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation or any other social identity category and/or defining characteristic will not be tolerated.

PRFC celebrates diversity, and wants that to be reflected on and off the pitch. We want our Club to be an environment where folks from all walks of life can come together, with mutual respect for one another, and play the sport that we love. In order to foster this environment, we are working to improve our policies and procedures to ensure that our D&I values are woven into every aspect of our Club’s operations.
