Spring Season Cancelled

A Message from our Captains regarding the cancellation of Spring Season 2020

Hello Philly,

As we're sure a good number of you have seen, USA Rugby released the below mandate regarding competition & rugby activities for the Spring 2020 season:

"All sanctioned competition and rugby activities are suspended for the foreseeable future, effective March 20, 2020. Members and clubs are asked to refrain from match play, training or team gatherings during this period. Accident and Liability insurance will not be valid during the above window of time. Information on when rugby activities will be able to resume will be communicated by USA Rugby."

You can read the whole statement here: https://www.usa.rugby/2020/03/coronavirus-covid-19-status-and-updates-usa-rugby/?fbclid=IwAR18pi1GlW2pkvpLJcS6A0LSXSPvu6g20pPFDF4d_CVaKV_4Xp1PE2UMOJU

Needless to say, we are heartbroken. As a team, we started this season with enthusiasm, positivity, and a clear understanding of the commitment we would need to dedicate to the team and each other to succeed both on and off the pitch. As Captains, we saw big things happening for both sides this season. We ended our Fall Season on an upswing, and we were both so excited to get this season started so each team could continue to grow, find their groove, and crush some W's.

This is obviously not how we saw our official season coming to an end, but please know that rugby is not over! While our season has to end before it was truly able to begin, our community has and will continue to grow stronger. We have been inspired by the number of posts, emails, tags, etc that we've seen across multiple platforms and we will use the rest of our time in our Captain roles to make sure that we are staying connected with you, and you are staying connected with each other.

You will continue to see communication from both of us, as well as the Board, as we continue to navigate this very unique circumstance.

Please continue to check in with your teammates, tag Philly Women in your fun activities/workouts, and keep an eye out for team activities that we can do together...apart.

Stay healthy, stay safe, we love you,

Becca & Pinker
